Family Pictures 2014

Now that I think our Christmas cards have all reached their destinations, I wanted to share our family pictures that we took in November.  I *won* a session with Lauren Clark and was just giddy from the moment it was announced!  I first found Lauren when I was searching for a wedding photographer 8 something years ago.  She was based in Lubbock at the time and was booked for our wedding date (thankfully she recommended someone she was mentoring who became a good friend – shout out to Sarah!), but I have followed her career ever since.  She is now based in Kansas City, but announced on facebook that she was traveling to DFW for a weekend of family sessions. She was an absolute miracle worker with the girls – anyone who can get Harper to smile like she did deserves a medal!  Without further adieu…

Well that was a long break…

So since the last time I posted it was about my sister’s baby shower, we’ve had a lot happen in a few short months!

Parker arrived on July 17th and is as precious as can be! Hadley and I went down by ourselves while they were in the hospital and she was a super proud little cousin!

The rest of our summer was filled with swim lessons, ballet lessons, bike riding, and play dates with friends.

In August, Hadley got a fresh new hair cut for a new school year!

Harper also had her 18 month well check – healthy, growing girl at 34” and 27lbs!

We had a fun visit with mimi and grandpa (and enjoyed some delicious Uncle Julios)

Hadley graduated into the next level at her swim school and earned a ribbon for their “jump, turn, swim” for being able to jump in the water, turn around and swim to the side and get out on her own!

Then we all took a trip down to Austin so Uncle Matt and Harper could finally meet sweet little Parker!

September:

Hadley started a new school year (pre-k 3)

Hadley started the fall session of her ballet lessons and is still loving it!

And October has already  been crazy busy so I’ll save that for a separate post!

Shower for Baby Parker!

In May, I helped to host a baby shower for my sister and nephew on-the-way along with my mom and one of my sister’s good friends, Julie.  I designed and printed the invites from home, my mom handled all the food and Julie helped a ton with the decorations – she is SUPER creative!

I based the design for the invites off of what Katie is using for Parker’s nursery.  She’s using all neutrals – gray, white, cream, with pops of orange. I had to add in a pop of blue, too – with two girls in the house it was fun to do something for a little boy!

This was on the table right where people entered.  I made the diaper wreath and the welcome sign; Julie painted that adorable little elephant sign and we had everyone sign an orange “balloon” for Parker. 

Katie has it framed in Parker’s nursery now!

Here’s the drink station – again, Julie made that adorable pennant!

And the one with his name for the fireplace (that is now over his crib)!

In lieu of shower games, we set up a onesie applique station for guests to make.  They turned out SO cute!

Hadley LOVED to help her aunt Katie open ALL of her presents!

It was such a fun shower and we cannot WAIT to meet sweet little baby Parker!  One more month!
