Weekend Recap On Wednesday

Sure, it might be Wednesday already, and some may deem that too late for recapping a weekend, but not around here!  We had a really fun weekend soaking up time with daddy and catching up with our friends who are currently living in China and were in town visiting!

Saturday night was a bit of a bust on one hand, but also a night to remember!  Morgan, Corbett and their daughter Brynn came over around 5:30 so we could let the girls play for a bit before dinner.

After a little playing and catching up, we finally decided on Olive Garden and left the house around 7.  I had the bright idea that the girls should ride together and the guys could ride separate (we had to take two cars so both girls had their car seats).  Morgan and I hopped in the car and got so busy talking that I completely missed the turn I was supposed to take.  The guys were following us and by the time I realized I’d missed the turn, I also realized that I had forgotten my phone and Morgan had left hers in the truck that the guys were in.  By the time we made it to Olive Garden they were on an hour and a half wait and both girls were pretty cranky because they were so hungry and up past their bedtimes!  We wound up turning around and going to Chick-Fil-A.  As soon as we walked into Chick-Fil-A, I couldn’t help but laugh as I realized we were arriving at the end of their Valentine’s Date Night!  There were white table cloths on all the tables with red rose centerpieces, lights strung all across the ceiling, and… y’all get this… a harp player.  That’s right.  A giant harp in the middle of chick-fil-a on a Saturday night.  Thankfully, both girls were content with their chicken and we got to sit and chat for awhile before calling it a night to get the girls to bed.   It was definitely a chick-fil-a visit we won’t forget for awhile!

{sidenote: there are no table cloths in the picture because apparently there was an end-time to the date night and they were cleaning it all up as we were arriving.  The harp player, however, did continue for a bit while we enjoyed our dinner. :)}

Matt We discovered a fun new game to play with Hadley; it’s almost a sure bet to turn a cranky mood around.  We put her in the corner of the couch and surround her with pillows.  (We’re rocket-scientists over here.)  She thinks it’s hilarious to push the pillows off and then pull them back and hide from us.   The pillow game has quickly become a favorite around here!  Love that each day her personality shines a little bit more these days!

That’s all I’ve got for now – hope y’all had a great Valentine’s Day!

I hope you don't mind but I tagged you in a little question and answer game. Please don't feel like you have to do it, but I thought it was kinda fun. :-)
