Back at the beginning of May, Hadley got to take her first trip out of state! We went with Matt’s parents to Hilton Head, SC and stayed for a week. Here’s a quick photo recap of our trip!
I’ll start with the plane ride. We had 2 large suitcases, 3 carry-on bags (2 bags + diaper bag), a carseat/travel bag and an umbrella stroller. It sounds like a lot, but it really wasn’t too difficult!
Ready for her first plane ride! Before:
During:
{Overall, Hadley did pretty well on the 2 1/2 hour ride. She got a little restless on the way there, and the way home she was SUPER cranky b/c she missed her morning nap due to the time of our flight, but miss social kept herself busy playing peek-a-boo with the people around us.}
After: {Get.Me.Off.This.Plane.}
We spent our week playing at the beach and pool, visiting the children’s museum on the island, going out to eat, playing put-put and riding bikes!
(Sorry for the photo overload from our first day at the ocean. Baby’s first time to feel sand between her toes and play in the ocean = major photo op for mom!)
And one final picture from our over-tired, exhausted baby girl on her way home…
Other than not enjoying being confined, Hadley didn’t seem to be bothered by the pressure on the plane at all, so we’re happy to know she’s a pretty good traveler! That said, it was so good to get home – I’ve heard it said that you don’t “vacation” with kids, you just take trips. Very true!

HOW FUN! It looks like y'all had a great time! We are going to the beach in September and I cannot wait, mainly to buy a bunch of cute baby beach clothes!
I'm flying (alone-yikes!) with a 19 month old to Dallas at the beginning of July. You've given me hope... :)
